Days 118-121; One Night in Bangkok, actually, three

We arrived in Bangkok after an overnight flight from Dubai and found our guesthouse without too much difficulty. Bangkok is an immense city of over 10 million people. There are many Wats, Temples, and a lot of Buddhas of all types.

Shorts and sleeveless shirts are not allowed, but they will "rent" you a skirt or pants and shirt, which Steph is wearing.

One of the bars near our guesthouse. These guys played a lot of Eagles songs, with a Thai accent, but they were a lot of fun. During the day the bar is a Thai massage parlor, hence the sign.

We also visited the Wat Pho where the Reclining Buddha is housed. It is about 50 meters long.

We also climbed the Golden Mount, which is a large white structure with stairs winding around it. On the landings are several bells and gongs to ring as you make your way to the top.

A popular way to travel around Bangkok is by tuk-tuk, which is a three wheeled motorcycle with a covered back seat. They actually feel safer than the cabs in Morocco.

We next boarded an overnight train to Chiang Mai. The seats of the train folded into beds with curtainis in the aisle. This was something new for us.

This Russian guy thought it was pretty amusing too.

Bangkok was nice and fun, but we are looking forward to getting out into the country and spending New Years in Chiang Mai.
